Acceleration program

Overview

Entrepreneurship can be a difficult and lonely journey.

Our accelerator is designed to give each startup the technical support, business acumen, personal development, and network connections they need to scale.

We’re committed to nurturing for-profit startups, ocean-impact startups that have a net positive impact on the triple bottom line.

We’re committed to supporting 72 startups over the next 3 years.

Applications are open year-round, and considered on a rolling basis.

Deadline for Cohort 7, intake 2 is 17 April 2026.

Dive Deeper Into Our Portfolio

Explore how our tailored support, global connections, and strategic investments translate into tangible impact for the ocean and the people who depend on it.

These stories celebrate the pioneers proving that a sustainable Blue Economy is already in motion.

Our pride and joy is in the entrepreneurs we support.

Since 2020, we’ve supported 69 startups across 4 areas of ocean impact:

  • Sustainably managed ocean resources
  • Towards a 1.5°C world
  • A clean ocean
  • Thriving and restored marine habitats

SUSTAINABLY MANAGED
OCEAN RESOURCES

Overexploitation is pushing many marine species to the brink, so we focus on solutions in sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood alternatives to build a regenerative Blue Economy.

This includes supporting smart fishing technologies, sustainable feed solutions, and novel food production methods that ensure food security while protecting marine life.

ABALOBI

ABALOBI is a South African-based organization that uses world-first fisheries improvement technologies and data to cultivate thriving, equitable, and climate-resilient small-scale fishing communities. Through their Fish With A Story platform, they connect fisher cooperatives with fair local and global markets, implementing data-driven strategies for both ecological and social sustainability.

TOWARDS A 1.5°C WORLD

Rising greenhouse gas emissions are driving ocean acidification and threatening marine life, making solutions in clean ocean energy, green shipping, and carbon sequestration essential for combating climate change.

This includes accelerating innovations in offshore wind, wave energy systems, and zero-emission vessels for maritime transport.

BlueNose Technologies

BlueNose Tech develops innovative, AI-powered wind deflectors and tailored aerodynamic retrofits designed to reduce the fuel consumption of commercial vessels.

Their solution lowers operational costs and emissions for ship owners, helping fleets achieve compliance with strict carbon regulations like CII, EEXI, and MARPOL Annex VI.

GIVO

GIVO is accelerating the transition to a circular economy in Africa through its innovative “Recycling-as-a-Service” model. Using 100% solar-powered modular hubs, GIVO processes plastic waste at the source, reducing carbon emissions and ocean-bound plastic and fostering economic prosperity in local communities across Nigeria.

A CLEAN OCEAN

Our ocean is choking with pollution from plastics, chemicals, and agricultural runoff that threaten marine ecosystems, making solutions for waste capture and sustainable materials crucial for ocean health.

We invest in innovations across wastewater treatment, green chemistry, biotechnology, and sustainable farming practices to prevent pollution at its source.

Sharksafe Barrier

In the Bahamas, that trade-off is not only ecological. It is economic. With shark tourism underpinning a $100M sector, traditional shark nets that kill sharks and entangle non-target species turn “safety infrastructure” into a liability. The question SharkSafe set out to answer was direct: can you protect people without destroying the ocean you depend on?

THRIVING AND RESTORED MARINE HABITATS

Marine habitats are being destroyed by harmful economic activities, making solutions focused on ecosystem restoration, marine protected areas, and sustainable tourism vital for rebuilding ocean biodiversity.

This includes investing in technologies for monitoring marine ecosystems and innovative approaches to protect and regenerate critical coastal and deep-sea habitats.
